Easter 2013

Happy Easter!  We had a great weekend of family, food, and lots of fun!

We started the weekend off at Lollie and Pops' house.  The weather was beautiful, and it was nice to spend some time outside!  Thanks to Pinterest, we tried the Kool-Aid method to color eggs this year.  It didn't work as well as the egg dye kits you can buy at the store, but it smelled REALLY good!

We started a "new" tradition of decorating cookies after colored eggs.  Lindsay was not too interested in the eggs, but had a blast decorating cookies.  She liked to decorate the cookie liberally with sprinkles, then eat it quickly before anyone noticed!

On Easter Sunday, we went with Todd's parents and grandparents to the Easter service at their church.  They had an awesome outdoor carnival for kids, including a petting zoo and pony rides.  I didn't get any pictures of the petting zoo -- I was busy trying to make sure Lindsay didn't get too friendly with the animals, especially the baby lamb and baby goats!

She kept calling the pony ride a carousel... wonder if she was waiting for the horses to go up and down?

Things only a 2-year-old could say...

For Spring Break, we headed over to San Antonio for a little family time (pictures to come later).  The best Lindsay quote from our vacation came while we were at Sea World, watching Shamu and baby Shamu swim around the tank:

L: "Look! Shamu is a mommy whale just like you!"

(cue shocked laughter from my husband)

Gee, thanks, Lindsay. Good thing you're cute and I know what you really meant! ;)
