3 Months!

Little Miss Thing has turned 3 months old!  She now weighs 11 lbs, 8 oz and is 23 inches long.

3 months old!

Here are some things Lindsay is doing these days:

- blows lots and lots of bubbles!
- smiles all the time, especially right after she wakes up
- has gotten even more vocal - will try to mimic sounds and coos
- is starting to drool quite a bit
- has begun reaching for things
- LOVES music!
- is very curious about noises and moving objects
- has started to really grab things (blankets, clothes, hair).... and once she gets ahold of something, she doesn't like to let go!
- likes to watch NASCAR races with Daddy (I think it's all the noise and bright colors moving really fast on the screen)
- eyes are getting brighter blue
- her "old man hair" is almost gone, and light blonde hair is taking its place
- can hold her head up really well when you hold her.  Still not much of a fan of tummy time, but she is able to hold her head up briefly.
- wears 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers
- doesn't really use a binky (pacifier) unless she is super tired
- still fights sleep, but gives in pretty quickly when she is swaddled
- stays with Grandma Anglin when Mommy goes to work
- likes to "people watch" whenever we go somewhere
- is very cuddly and likes to be held and rocked
- has grown into a great sleeper... around 9 hours at night (for now anyway!)
- favorite toys:  birdie gym and vibrating bouncy chair

A great video that shows a little of her fun personality:

And here are some of our best 3 month pictures:

We are all smiles these days!
Car rides still put us to sleep pretty quickly.

After a bath...

Lindsay loves to sit at the computer with Daddy!

Sleepy baby...

Lindsay hasn't really "discovered" her hands yet, she just knows she likes to put them in her mouth!

We wanted to see what Lindsay would look like with hair, so we used Mommy's hair as a "wig"!

So silly!

Lindsay's first trip to College Station.  We caught an Aggie Baseball games while we were there!

She still loves to cuddle... and that never gets old. :)

Happy 3 months Lindsay!  We love you! :)

Nursery: Before and After

Finally, a nursery before and after!  I have enjoyed decorating the different rooms in the house, but this one was by far the most fun and is definitely my favorite.

BEFORE
As a little background, this was our official "junk room" -- it was filled with boxes of stuff that we didn't know what to do with when we moved into this house 2 1/2 years ago.  The previous owners had painted it the most unfortunate shade of pink, and they made it glossy, which didn't help matters any (the pictures are deceptive -- it looked BAD in person!).
Closet View - We put the dresser in there for more wall space in the room.

DURING THE DECORATING PROCESS
We decided to paint the walls with 12" vertical stripes in two shades of green to match the bedding.  People thought we were crazy and that it would never work, but we're pretty stubborn, so we tried it anyway.  Using a level, many rolls of Frog Tape, some tricks from HGTV, and LOTS of patience, the stripes actually turned out great!   We were thinking this would be fabulous for a girl's room,  and it would also work for a boy if the ultrasound turned out to be wrong. :)

Painting the first coat of light green... relieved it only took two coats to cover the glossy pink!

After we measured and taped off the walls, we started on the dark green stripes.

Stripes finished and tape removed!  And crown molding installed by the wonderful husband. :)

 AFTER
I have to admit, I think this is now my favorite room in the house!  We did a lot of the projects ourselves, which makes it that much more precious to us.

Her name letters (wooden letters, foam core, ribbon, and scrapbook paper) and her Owl Bow Holders (clearance coat hooks with the hook removed and strips of ribbon).

View from the door -- the banner on the windows was made for her by one of my friends at school.  Each pennant has a letter of her name.  It is adorable!!

The closet -- seriously, we have a ton of little girl clothes (and mostly 3-6 month sized!).  Some gifts, some passed down from cousins, and some just because they were so cute Mommy couldn't pass them up!  The dresser holds our folded stuff (pajamas, socks, shorts/bloomers, extra bedding, etc).

Across from the crib -- nice and girly with all the pink. :)

Better view of her letters.  I admit, I'm proud of these -- they took forever to make!
So that's our little girl's nursery -- it took a lot of work, but it was definitely worth it!  Too bad we can't make her leave it just like this until she leaves for college! :)

Apprehensive...

So this starts my last week as a SAHM (stay-at-home-mommy) until school is over.  I officially go back to work on Thursday, which leaves me a precious 3 more days with my sweet.  I have very mixed emotions about it... on one hand, I am excited to go back and see my friends and my classes, but on the other, I am having a hard time with the idea of leaving her during the days.  The good news is that she will stay with Grandma Anglin while I'm at work, so that makes it about a million times easier because I know she'll be loved on and have fun all day long!!

We're almost to the 3 month mark, so here are some pictures of our growing girl...

Playing with Daddy on our favorite toy of the month... the birdie gym!

More "gym time"

Talking with Aunt Abi

Love this smile! :)
