Me and My Big Ideas...

Around Christmas, I found a fun new craft project to work on that make great gifts for friends and family. They are wooden photo blocks, and they have a clip on them so you can change the pictures out really easily. One of the great things about them is the fact that they are so easy to customize for any group, team, or special occasion! Here are some of the cuter ones I've done:

I'll post more pictures soon, but you get the idea.

I've sold these to individuals, but my biggest order was to make 40 of them for a local high school cheerleading team. For the last 2 weeks, I completely took over the kitchen and turned it in to my own "factory" to get the order completed. It was a lot of work, but they turned out really cute! Here are some pictures:

The block.

Lots and lots of blocks on my kitchen table!

  2. Hello! I was wondering what the dimensions are for the blocks and where did you find them? I love this idea! :)

  3. Hi I was wondering if you would share what size the blocks are. Thanks so much. They look great! I am hoping to try and recreate something like this for our cheerleaders banquet coming up in March.

  4. I apologize for not responding to you all, I had no idea this picture was being passed around Pinterest -- or that people were commenting on it! I am no longer taking large orders, but I think there are quite a few Etsy stores that make these photo blocks now.

As for the blocks, I cut them myself from a 2 x 6 piece of wood. Each block is 7.25" tall (so it is a square). You can find the clips at any office supply store, and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. The megaphones are from a homecoming mum supply store.

  5. Hi. I'm curious what type of "trim / fringe" you used on the tops of the blocks. Is that eyelash or ultra lash trim? Thank you.

  7. Sorry to bother you but how can you get a 7.25 square block out of a 2x6 piece of wood?
